SUM Global Technology announces Port of SiteWhere to Bazel

Alpharetta, GA, October 2, 2019 – As part of our Google Bazel Partnership, SUM Global Technology has completed an experimental port of the SiteWhere open source project from Gradle to Bazel. The port proved the speed and correctness of Bazel, running several times faster than its Gradle build.  Bazel’s Starlark language allowed the team to easily mimic the functionality of Gradle plugins.

SUM Global Technology did the original port of the SiteWhere build from Maven to Gradle.  This is a complex build with many moving parts.  It was a perfect candidate to validate the power and speed of Bazel.
