Chip moved to Atlanta 20 years ago from Alabama. He has over 25 years experience developing enterprise software. He is an expert in team building and an avid Agile proponent. He began his career coding in C and C++ working on virtual machines and domain specific languages. In 2001 he started working with Java to solve many interesting problems including writing and supporting a custom JEE stack. He is fascinated with IoT and the massive data challenges it brings and the solutions to those challenges. You can often find him tinkering with his Samsung Smart Things hub, writing custom Groovy to make the lights do fun and interesting stuff or working with his 3D printer or CNC machines. He has spent the last 5 years advocating micro-service architectures and REST API design utilizing Docker, Kubernetes and micro-profiles. When he is not working Chip enjoys spending time with his family, doing home improvement projects and cheering on Alabama, and all the Atlanta sports teams.
